Osteopathy is suitable for any age from the newborn to the elderly and everyone in between

People have come for treatment for an incredibly diverse range of health issues, from ‘just not feeling quite right’ to acute pain.

An osteopathic treatment aims to address both the symptoms/pain as well as the root cause.

Osteopathy is a very safe form of healthcare. My approach is using gentle, hands on therapy as well as advice to get your body back to health.

I will talk to you about the factors causing the problems/symptoms and I will formulate a treatment and management plan for your recovery.

About Me

I have loved osteopathy from the moment I first knew about its principles; the body has an innate ability to heal and our role as osteopaths is to remove anything that prevents that expression of health.

I graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 2005 and have been extending my knowledge of cranial osteopathy ever since. I am a member of the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopaths and I have completed the Biodynamic pathway.

I am particularly interested in working with more complex and long term patterns and the way in which the body and psyche are interrelated. Unravelling the cause of people’s problems is one of the most satisfying elements of osteopathy. Sometimes it can involve years of compensations and adaptations to previous stresses and strains and this is a privilege to work with.

I am very happy to discuss your particular cause free of charge if you would like to talk things through before deciding if treatment is right for you.

First Appointment what to expect

The first appointment is up to one hour which enables me to ensure you get treatment as well as an examination and diagnosis. The diagnosis comprises of what is causing the problem and why it has developed.

I will take a detailed case history which will include your current complaint(s) as well as any past medical, accident and/or trauma history. I will also be interested in any other areas of health such as emotional stresses you are suffering or have suffered in the past as these too can be relevant to the current problem(s).

The treatment programme aims to relieve the current symptoms as well as address the underlying cause to prevent recurrence.

Because of the osteopathic techniques I choose, it is unlikely you will be asked to remove any clothing.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or carer (adult patients may bring a chaperone if desired).

“Kate has treated both my daughters who were put immediately at ease by her caring manner. She listens well and is very thorough in her approach to dealing with the issue and I would not hesitate to recommend her.”

Sarah L

When life at home changed, my 2 year old daughter didnʼt adapt very well and her behaviour became quite bad. I took her to see Kate who was simply fantastic. After just one session, the transformation was amazing. Thank you for bringing my daughter back to her old-self.

David C

Kathryn’s gentle and calm manner was very reassuring and I was instantly put at ease. She was very insightful and helped me to overcome my issues and made me feel more relaxed and at peace with myself. I would strongly recommend anyone to go to Kathryn.

Olivia W

I found Kate to be very professional, approachable and personable. I have recommended her to several people since she treated me, all of whom have recommended her to other people. Definitely the Osteopath to go to!

Karen S

“I would just like to thank you Kate for your amazingness! My back was so bad on Friday and after seeing you it feels better than they have felt for about a year! You are calm, positive and wonderful inside and out! Thank you!”

Beth

What I really like & appreciate in Kathryn’s treatment is that she’s able to explain exactly what she is doing & why it’s needed in a way that’s easily understood. This enabled me to come away feeling confident & positive about the treatment & the recovery process.

I was recommended The Bourne Osteopath by an existing client and have suffered numerous sports injuries and have subsequently remained a client for over 2 years now. I would recommend this practice to any one seeking this type of treatment.

Stuart R
